The time has come again for me to hide my handsome face and grow a lovely beard. Please check out my photos from week to week. In January 2014 Melinda and I lost our first child Declan Noah at 26 Weeks, due to HELLP Syndrome. Bears of Hope provided the help and support for both of us (and continue to do so) through this tragedy. Unfortunately, a more common tragedy than we thought. Each day in Australia, 6 babies are stillborn, 2 babies die before their 1st birthday and a miscarriage occurs every 3.5 minutes. Tens of thousands of dads and their families are affected each year. Bears Of Hope provides support to families from the very beginning of their loss and beyond, through their extensive and much-needed services. So from 1st June to 31st August, I will be getting my beard on and raising money for Bears Of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support. More than ever, Dads and their families will be feeling more isolated and alone in their grief and this is a great way we can show our support, stay connected, honour our precious babies and highlight the importance of mateship through these challenging times. Bears of Hope are ensuring their support services are accessible and free for thousands of Dads and their families, so any amount you can spare is greatly appreciated. I welcome any contribution, great or small, to help make a positive difference to the parents and families who experience the devastating loss of their baby. Thank you so much for your support!
